Cho cá bống vào chảo cà ri, đảo nhẹ tay. Thêm nước 1 trái dừa cho vào chảo, nêm 1 muỗng cà phê muối và đun trên lửa nhỏ.
Nấu thêm 20 phút cho thịt cá thấm gia vị thì thêm 1/2 muỗng canh nước mắm, 1 muỗng cà phê bột ngọt, đun cho cá thấm gia vị rồi tắt bếp. Đợi cho nguội thì lại bật bếp đun thêm lửa nữa cho cạn hết nước, hoặc còn chút nước ở đáy cũng được nếu bạn không muốn ăn cá khô quá. Khi ăn cho cá ra dĩa dùng cùng cơm nóng.
